Hello,
I chunter about digital - I don’t do the chuntering at home, as the family look at me funny. So I mostly chunter to organisations about how they can change their communications to being digital first. Most often that means cultural and organisational change. Sometimes it means technological change too.
I used to work in ‘normal’ jobs, most often in digital roles: I flitted between media and government for a long time - I was executive editor at the Guardian, worked on the launch team of Guardian Professional and was editorial director for digital at The Independent. I was also head of digital communications in Downing Street (for Messrs Blair and Brown) and head of digital diplomacy at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (for Messrs Miliband and Hague), and worked on the first iteration of .gov.uk. I even did a stint as director for digital at Freud Communications.
Since I went freelance I’ve worked in digital education, video, digital communications, digital diplomacy, reputation management, crowd-funding, social media … if it has a digital element to it, I’ve been hanging around, in London, Los Angeles, Dubia, Belgrade and more... Some of the clients I can name, and some I can’t. So I won’t.
I also do a bit of writing occasionally here and here, and I sort of collect it here.
And you can find me on Twitter and LinkedIn, of course. Get in touch. I’m always good for a bit of chuntering.
