Dr. Jimmy Zhong is a Cognitive Neuroscientist and Psychometrician who obtained his PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience, Cognitive Aging, and Quantitative Psychology (Highest Distinction) from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA, in 2019. Prior to that, he obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore.
Dr. Zhong graduated as a top scholar at both NUS and Georgia Tech, winning numerous awards in the process. Memorably, he was a Three-time Winner of Atlanta city design contests held by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) at Georgia Tech. He has broad academic interests - ranging from Spatial Cognition and Navigation, Cognitive Aging, the Neuroscience of Consciousness, to Applied Psychology and Artificial Intelligence (AI). In addition, he is an active chess player and analyst (national master class).
Currently, he is ardently involved in educating others through lectures, talks, and podcasts across a variety of subjects, including - but not limited to - AI, Psychology, and Chess. His online lectures cover a diverse range of topics such as chess openings, psychological theories, AI-related issues, and book reviews. Particularly popular are his playlists on chess openings, strategies, and commentaries of major chess tournaments (viewable through his YouTube channel - click on link below). This constitutes a key aspect of his broader engagement with online learning platforms, where he explores the intersection of chess, psychology, and cognition.
