Since 2004, licensed tribal attorney Jim Red Cloud has led the Red Cloud Law Firm in offering innovative legal solutions for members of the Oglala Sioux Tribe on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. The law firm provides services for the Black Hills Sioux Nation Treaty Council and has assisted the council with legal matters such as its 2012 complaint against the U.S. government for the mistreatment of Native Americans, as well as the council’s 2012 petition for membership in the United Nations.
Mr. Red Cloud is also a partners with Arlin Whirlwind Horse in the Badlands Outfitters, which provides guide services for outdoors enthusiasts who want to hunt, fish, bike, or hike in the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Located 80 miles southeast of Rapid City, South Dakota, the company adheres to Oglala Sioux Tribe (OST) hunting regulations and offers hunt trips for deer, antelope, buffalo, elk, wild turkey, prairie dog, coyote, and upland game birds. Drawing on his education in fish and wildlife management, Jim Red Cloud also organizes nature tours, fishing tours, and other group expeditions for visitors to this beautifully wild and rugged area.
