Jim Spearman

I'm a native of rural northwest Alabama working to improve our great state and believe me there is a whole lot of work left to be done. Basically I'm a fun loving down to earth guy that likes watching sports, hanging out at the lake or beach with friends and family, traveling, a foodie, a fan of political memorabilia, cowboy boots, Alabama history, and southern literature. I'm an alumnus of Auburn University and a huge fan of the Auburn Tigers -- "War Eagle!". I believe in the "Auburn Creed" and strive to live up to it in my life. I'm a progressive Democrat. I have served on all levels of the Alabama Democratic Party and continue to fight for "the least of these". In addition to working in the political arena, my background includes small business development and management in the sectors of health care, retail, real estate and banking. I'm a member of the United Methodist Church and support a more progressive church working to put faith into action. It is my hope that my actions can help to build a better Alabama by fostering a more progressive state, conserving our natural resources and working to extend equality to all Alabamians while having some fun along the way.
