Jim Tolin
I grew up in Topeka Kansas, and, prior to salvation, was in and out (mostly out) of the Methodist Church. God called me to salvation and I accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord in 1965 after I had graduated from college and was living near Houston Texas. I became a Southern Baptist shortly thereafter when I met my bride to be, Rae Tolin, who encouraged me to start attending the Southern Baptist Church she belonged to. Rae and I have three children; Beth Stultz, Janet Ragains and Jay Tolin. Beth is married to J. Stultz and has two children, Grace and John. Jan is married to Chad Ragains and has three children, Nate, Philip and Caroline. Jay is married to Alice Tolin and has two children, James and David. Rae and I started attending Westwood in 1992 and, after hearing several of Gerald Hodges’ sermons, knew this was where God wanted us to worship and be members. All of our children were in college at that time and we called them home to attend a service at Westwood. After attending services they all agreed this was where our family needed to be members. Our whole family became members of Westwood shortly thereafter. I have had the honor to serve as an elder and deacon in the Church. I also have the privilege of leading a life group that meets in our home. I have been an attorney practicing in Roxboro since 1974. My hobbies are spending time with my family, auto repair, and boating.
