A brief history of Jim...

For 30 years I have been building and refining the professional that I am today. I have endeavored to maintain a foundation of integrity and enthusiasm throughout my career. My professional explorations have taken me, sometimes running and sometimes stumbling, through multiple cycles of creativity, business development, and personal enrichment. I feel truly blessed to have had the breadth of rich experiences that have come my way.

My BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UCSB taught me more about my capacity to learn than it taught me about circuits and computers. It gave me the confidence to take on anything. I followed my BSEE degree with a Jazz Keyboard musical education in Los Angeles which taught me as much about my creative potential as it did about music.

I grew up as a young professional at Microsoft where I learned how to build and maintain business relationships both inside and outside of the organization. Those ten years of sales/marketing/bizdev experience took me all over the world including two years in London where I finally learned to speak English.

Post-Microsoft, I helped to build several startups while watching my net worth cycle between five and eight figures a few times ON PAPER. Those years gave me Director and VP titles and put me in front of boards of directors regularly. This offered me deep learning in true accountability.

In 2010, I lept into entrepreneurship to follow my lifelong passion for photography. It has been an amazing journey as I've worn every hat from artist to janitor while running my own small business.

This brings me to the present day where I am enthusiastically open to whatever opportunities life chooses to reveal. I have much, much more to give as I continue to build and refine the professional I am still becoming.
