Jinexa Rivera

Hi, my name is Jinexa. I am a Programs Assistant currently living in Brooklyn, New York.

I hold an MS in International Affairs, and love to learn about different cultures. As a matter of fact, my love of cultural learning is how I ended up taking Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, and Arabic classes all at once while an undergrad (though I'm afraid I'm completely useless in Japanese and Arabic). I have extensive experience working for non-profits, and I'm passionate about issues regarding global development and women and girls.

I'm also a dancer and capoeirista, taking up the Brazilian martial art when I was 15 and continuing for nearly 10 years. After training the martial art for so long I've decided to take a bit of a break recently to explore other interests and talents, and have since taken up samba and film editing. My other interests range from baking to arts. I am also passionate about movies, food, and education.
