Jinlin Wang
Jinlin is currently the CTO & EVP of Engineering of Answers, providing direction for technology development and operations that ensure the successful execution of the company’s business mission.
Prior to joining Answers, he was a principal development manager of Online Service Division at Microsoft, responsible for contextual ads modeling and algorithmic development. Prior to Microsoft, he was a director of engineering at Yahoo where he led the research and development of analytics and quality-based pricing for paid/sponsored search (multi-billion dollar) marketplace, the Yahoo direct marketing system (DMS) that transacts and optimizes multi-million dollar annual advertising spend, the content recommendation engine for online users, the recommendation engine and media buying optimization for large display advertisers, and the optimal delivery of display advertising over a little over four years. He is the lead or co-inventor of four patent applications of innovative online monetization methods.
Prior to embarking on consumer internet and online monetization, Jinlin spent eight years at PeopleSoft and subsequently Oracle managing and developing optimization technology and its applications. He was a founding manager of the PeopleSoft Optimization Group and led the team in conceiving, prototyping, building, and growing the PeopleSoft Optimization Framework (POF), the industry’s first patented design and run-time framework for cost effective development and deployment of optimization applications. He is a co-inventor of the patented framework.
Jinlin earned his Ph.D. In Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut, and his bachelor and master degrees from Tsinghua University, Beijing.
