JJ Puglsey

JJ Pugsley is the Founder, President, and Head Instructor of the Ronin Training Institute, which offers a training courses in jiu-jitsu, self-defense, firearms, security, executive protection, and much more. With over 14 years of executive protection and armed security experience combined with a 2nd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu experience, JJ brings a wealth of knowledge and real world applications to the training cadre. He has also completed a myriad of executive protection, tactical firearms and instructor certification courses.
In addition to his work with the Ronin Training Institute, JJ Pugsley continues to compete professional in Jiu-Jitsu events with the Fight to Win Promotions organization. He is currently sponsored by Bad Boy Brands, joining their elite pro team in 2016.
JJ Pugsley is a graduate of Argosy University and the University of the Rockies, where he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in psychology. He was inspired to educate himself in psychology from a human perspective after watching good friends in the military go through TBI (traumatic brain injury) and PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). JJ is currently pursuing a doctorate in Neuropsychology to offer support that many veterans are not receiving. He hopes to eventually open a non-profit, privately-funded, clinic to treat veterans with PTSD for free as an alternative to the Veteran Affairs Hospital.
