Josep Jutglar

Teacher, translator, and Artist in Barcelona

I have always wanted to be an audiovisual translator and I started my career working in the subtitling and dubbing industry as a freelancer. Although I loved this job, at that time it was hard to find work on a regular basis, so I had the opportunity to start working in teaching EFL and it's almost been 20 years now. Teaching has been very rewarding and after so many years I am now ready to explore other areas: the audiovisual translation world and the creation of e-learning content.

TRANSLATORI just finished a Postgraduate Degree at the UOC called Translation and Technology, where I've been able to catch up with all the quick technological changes that this world has experimented in the last 20 years. I consider I am ready to go back to the amazing world of audiovisual translation and I am also keen on keeping on learning.

ESL TEACHERI work as a full-time English teacher in Servei de Llengües of the UAB (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona)

I have also been doing coordination tasks in the English Department for 8 years. My interests are the fostering of autonomous learning, learning through technology, and English for specific purposes. I also worked as a collaborator for the UOC (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya) doing distance learning courses. I understand the role of teaching as a multidisciplinary task. The teacher is also a guide and facilitator who needs to give students the right tools so that they learn but at the same time become more autonomous in their learning process.

ELEARNING CONTENT CREATOR AND COORDINATOR:after eight years as adjunct coordinator of the English section of Servei de Llengües, I have gained experience behind the scenes creating and coordinating learning projects, among which the bimodal courses Prepare for B1 and B2.
