Jason Zimmer
I am an Electrician/SCADA technician specializing in Water and Waste Water Electrical Supervision and Control Systems. I primarily work in the RSLogix programming environment as well as utilizing Wonderware Intouch HMI and Historian applications. My career started in commercial, industrial and institutional construction and moved into power generation construction at the Revelstoke and Mica Dams working on the 500kV distribution system and control systems. I also am involved in municipal street lighting maintenance and LED, energy efficient, upgrades. My main focus is instrumentation and process control programming. I enjoy understand the system as a whole and creating efficient ways to operate the system including streamline system alarming and energy efficiency. I believe the operators shouldn't have to worry about what is under the hood, that's my job. But it is also my job to understand the operator's job and what they need to successfully complete their work load. Anything that I can do to create a better way for them to succeed gives me great satisfaction. The best thing about my job is that I know the whole picture not just one piece and I am not satisfied until I understand it all from what sensors do what to how to make the operation more streamlined.
My goal is to understand the people in my life completely and figure out what makes them work, although I do not know if that is ever entirely possible as people are ever changing and that is the best thing about life, learning and living and the relationships that come with that.
