Windows Server Administration

Strong experience in administering Microsoft Exchange Server 2003/2008, responsible for setting up and maintaining the system, charged with installing, supporting, and maintaining servers or other computer systems, and planning for and responding to service outages and other problems. Other duties include scripting or light programming, project management for systems-related projects. Expertise with Windows 2003/2008 server, IIS, MOM (Microsoft Operations Management).

Active Directory Administration

Upgraded Active Directory to the Windows 2008 platform to incorporate design. Also performed object migrations and security translation as necessary so that users could maintain access to network resources during the migration process. Helped guide migration efforts during upgrade to ensure user accounts, permissions, data and forest structure remained or was corrected once migration was done. Studied various documents and applied new technologies to the existing system. Maintained all the window servers hosted in the domain accordance with standards and practices outlined by the client (US Navy). Designed the measurements for auditing and quality assurance. Supported the enterprise level applications. Maintained a record of all the security changes and modifications made to the enterprise.

Desktop Management

Provided comprehensive approach to managing all computers within the organization, oversaw laptops and other computing devices as well as desktop computers. Tasks include installing and maintaining hardware and software, spam filtering, and administering user permissions (Active Directory). Other components of systems management included security-related tasks such as patch management, anti-virus server management and spyware, and controlling programs installed without corporate approval, such as instant messaging, file sharing programs, and RSS readers. Primarily utilized MOM to monitor network performance, applications and reporting. It was the provided tool to improve availability of security within the doman. Along with Altirus it helped ease the complexity of management throughout the enterprise.
