Jocelyn K. Glei

Hello, I'm a writer living in Portland, Oregon. I believe that great books can change hearts and minds (and habits). Nothing has more power than a well-put word.

I've authored and edited three books, including Manage Your Day-to-Day, an Amazon bestseller that sold over 100,000 in its first year, Maximize Your Potential, and most recently Make Your Mark. Collectively these three books make up the first 99U book series, which offers pragmatic, actionable advice for creatives on managing their time, their careers, and their businesses. I also contributed all of the text and interviews for a beautiful new coffee table design book called Super-Modified: The Behance Guide to Creative Work. Together, these four books have sold more than a quarter million copies to date.

From its launch in 2009 until March 2015, I was the Founding Editor and Director of Behance's 99U, where I led the brand in its mission to provide the "missing curriculum" on making ideas happen. There, I oversaw the 99u.com website—which won two Webby Awards for Best Cultural Blog—and lead the curation of the popular 99U Conference, which has presented talks from an incredible crop of creatives, including John Maeda, Brené Brown, Jad Abumrad, Stefan Sagmeister, Jonathan Adler, AJ Jacobs, Paula Scher, Joe Gebbia, and many more.

Prior to joining Behance and 99U, I was the global managing editor at the online media company Flavorpill, leading development of new editorial products. I've also consulted with dozens of brands and agencies, from Herman Miller to PSFK to Huge Inc, on content strategy and web launches. I'm passionate about creating editorial products that people love.
