Jenesis Laforcarde
Jenesis’ introduction to fashion was early in life. As a young child, she was happiest when playing with Barbie Dolls and creating arts and crafts. Her love for the arts blossomed into a passion for fashion as she began styling real, life sized Barbies for Phoenix Fashion Week at the age of 17. From there, the world became her runway! Jenesis started a freelance styling company called Jenesis Styles that provided wardrobe styling, fashion show production and creative directing services to many clients. The fact that she was so young intrigued many and proved beneficial as she attracted the freshest fashion designers, makeup artists, photographers, videographers, hair stylist and models to join her elite team. She has worked with up and coming designers like Herbert Victoria, Mabella Chic, Hipknoties as well as accepted invitations to work at Los Angeles Fashion Week. A year passed and Jenesis felt the need to branch out, specifically directing her energy toward making a difference in empowering women around the world through fashion. Thus, the Woman’s Touch Apparel line was created. This bright, bold and fierce line has powerful messages of encouragement printed on trendy tops for women of all ages and sizes. Soon after launching the clothing line, Jenesis focused on opportunities to give back to the community by cofounding a foundation titled Brave Wings. Brave Wings is an annual fashion extravaganza showcasing emerging designers, talent and models with proceeds donated to a selected charity each year. The first annual fashion show was a huge success with proceeds donated to the Sojourner House, a shelter for domestic violence victims. Jenesis is a product of an ever changing world growing up as a military brat and traveling the world from Europe to Asia. It did not take long before she branched out once more and recently became creative director of Vanity Branding, a new company focusing on the marketing of local artists and small businesses through the use of digital appearances and social media. Diverse for even the seasoned entrepreneur, she is still approaching the ripe age of 21. Jenesis believes age is only a number, not a limitation or definition of a person. Continuing on her path to success fueled with ambition and creativity, the only barrier to inhibit this journey is the one she creates for herself.
