Joëlle Léger

Joëlle Léger

My name is Joëlle Léger and I am currently teaching at Asia Pacific International School in South Korea.

My journey to Asia started at the age of 5, when my sister and I would often play "school". My dream came true 6 years ago when I started teaching with the Durham Board of Education near Toronto, Canada.

Since then, I have been blessed with the opportunity to open a new school, teach at an international school and work in both elementary and middle school divisions.

In 2007, I completed my Bachelor's of Education at Nipissing University. That fall, I began working in a grade one classroom at Cadarackque Public School. A year later, I was offered a permanent position with the board teaching French to second language learners to middle school students at Nottingham Public School. In 2009, I was blessed with the opportunity to open a new School called Roméo Dallaire Public School where I taught grades one and four.

Last year, I broadened my horizons and moved to Korea to continue my teaching career. I currently teach grade three and I am thoroughly enjoying this experience. Our school opened it's very own fellowship service on Sundays, where I organize and oversee the children's Ministry. I love the community, the staff, and the administration. It is a student centered environment that helps children thrive in their learning. My passion for students and teaching has reinforced my love for learning. I am always looking for opportunities to learn and grow and have started my Master's of Education with Simpson University.
