John L. Huggins, Jr. is an award winning business owner, community activist and Co-Founder and COO of Last Mile Broadband LLC. He’s excited about his latest company, in which he gets to combine his years of technology experience; his excitement about business, and his passion of being of services to others. Last Mile Broadband LLC was established to alleviate broadband/high-speed Internet access disparities in rural, underserved and unserved communities. Mr. Huggins’ company will build and own “last mile” fiber-to-the-premise and fixed wireless broadband networks; then provide low cost, high quality high-speed Internet access and other broadband services to communities that are being overlooked by the incumbent service providers. His company will also be seeking opportunities to provide technology project management & consulting support; the design, installation & maintenance of copper and fiber structured cabling systems; and telemedicine support services, via the E-Rate program, for schools and libraries. Mr. Huggins has a history of dedication to the non-profit and the economic development community; his company will provide technology training and job opportunities for residents in their services areas.
