Multi-Platform Communications Strategist in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

A former broadcast journalist with 20 years of experience in television, radio and digital media, Janette began her career as a news anchor/reporter in the U.S. before moving to Toronto in 2006 to host a current affairs show. She then focused her expertise on consulting and managing social media, publicity and crowdfunding campaigns for a wide range of clients, including the Open Democracy Project and filmmakers Sarah Polley and Brett Story.

Janette is currently the Marketing and Communications Director for Common Wealth, a mission-driven business that specializes in providing group retirement plans to Canadians without access to traditional pensions. She also oversees strategy and communications for Attiya Khan and Lawrence Jackman’s A BETTER MAN, a groundbreaking documentary that infuses new energy and possibility into the movement to end violence against women. Janette is a graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and Latin.
