Julio Martinez-Clark’s academic credentials include a bachelor of science in Electronics Engineering, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). His professional experience includes positions at Nortel and Alcatel-Lucent for Latin America and the Caribbean. He is fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese and has travelled extensively in the US, Europe and Latin America & the Caribbean. While at Alcatel-Lucent, he was the technical leader of the implementation of Telefonica’s IP network in Colombia and later established executive level relationships with end-customers, distributors, and regional and global partners such as IBM and Oracle. He had the unique opportunity to re-create Alcatel-Lucent Business Partner program in Latin America from a 1-page agreement, to a world class channel program. This provided him with ample experience driving business projects and programs, measuring business performance and trends, and communicating cross-functionally. He has also worked as a technology consultant for Johns Hopkins University Hospital assigned to a project in Trinidad & Tobago. In 2003 Mr. Martinez-Clark co-founded a real estate investment firm in Orlando, FL where he acquired, renovated and sold over 60 properties over the course of 4 years; this experience provided him with invaluable investment, legal and financial skills.
Currently, Mr. Martinez-Clark is the co-founder, President & CEO of Interventional Concepts, Inc.; a clinical development and consulting firm that helps medical device manufacturers and biopharma companies conduct clinical research trials in Latin America. He is responsible for business development, general management, contract negotiations, operations, logistics, regulatory affairs, etc. Interventional Concepts, Inc. has alliances with several research centers in Colombia and is involved in the implementation and 10-year operation of a world-class cardiovascular service (affiliated to the University of Miami) in a new +200-bed clinic in Barranquilla, Colombia.
