Juliana Mayorga García
Bogotá D.C. - Colombia
She finished high school as a very ambitious girl, completely in love with advertising and design. She started a bachelor in Social Communication at the Pontifical Xaverian University focusing on advertising after two semesters until now days. But she was feeling, for the first three semesters an empty space in her, so she decided to try a second bachelor. Given that the college gives her this opportunity, she started with Industrial Design. Now Juliana is a student who considers herself a happy person with her two bachelors, that for her is impossible to say which one she likes mostly. For her the combination of design and advertising is PERFECT.
She has had the opportunity to be part of different design summer courses. In the summer of 2013 she experienced the magic and the multicultural city of New York, studying at Pratt Institute for two months. As for the summer of 2014, she crossed the Atlantic to be part of the Furniture Design curse for a month offered by the Florence Institute of Design International located in the heart of the most colorful region of Italy, the Tuscany. She experienced the magic of the history and art that the city of Florence has to offer.
She’s missing around one year to complete her bachelor at Social Communication and most likely two for Industrial Design.
Juliana believes that the best way to solve problems is reaching the source and trying to understand it, what makes it be like that, which are the factors that make the problem how it is. For her the best method is design thinking, she’s not an expert on the subject but she likes to study it and is a fast learner, she absorbers information like a sponge and has an amazing memory.
What makes her how she is, is because she doesn’t see the things, she observes everything even the littlest detail. She is a person full of smiles; she’s a photography and art lover. Scuba diving is her passion, but she makes it a hobby out of it.
