Janettee McCrary is definitely a "jack-of-all-trades", with skills that include writing, photography and singing - among many others. Her writing journey began as a small child, writing poetry, essays, and short stories... Both for school assignments and to cope with her life as a foster child. She moved up in the ranks to Student Editor of her high school newspaper, and shortly after high school joined The Oklahoman's "Newsroom 101" program.

She is the author of several poems, essays, short stories, blogs, and articles posted in various locations (online and off), including on The Examiner. She is a frequent guest on foster care blogs, and is currently writing her autobiography via her blog, Bruised Wings.

Janettee has been taking photographs since she was just twelve years old, when she received her first camera as a gift from her foster mother. She has been a photographer for Lifetouch Portrait Studios, has photographed events for local nonprofits, and was a photographer for Glass Hat Magazine.

She is also a singer who has been singing since she was able to talk. She began by entertaining her parents at home, then moved on to participating in both school and church choirs, with occasional solo parts. She has had voice lessons at Oklahoma City University, performed in talent shows several times, was in Cry-Slurs (an audition-only advanced choir), and even received an audition invitation from The Julliard School.

She and her husband recently started up a joint hobby project called McCrary Technologies. They build and fix computers and install software programs and educate clients on how to use them. She is also starting up her own nonprofit, The Love Project Foundation of Oklahoma, which will house various groups of people (and homeless animals) in a loving and safe environment.

Janettee has always been drawn to animals, and her love of them plays a big part in her daily life. Until her children were born, she was very active in the animal rescue community, volunteering and donating time, money, and skills, and fostering. She is currently taking a break to enjoy her children's early childhood.

A small-town country girl from Collinsville, Oklahoma, she now lives in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with her wonderful husband, Nathan, their two children, "Cat" and "Lex", and two extremely spoiled cats, Pantera and Chilly. If you'd like to know more about Janettee, just ask!
