Writer, translator, editor, public relations professional and business owner, Julia Mautino Messina has been a featured contributor to cultural and business publications for the past 30 years. She provided the content and managed the e-commerce and retail websites for Starved Rock Lodge & Marketplace in Utica, Illinois, and has managed successful businesses in the US and abroad. Julia is married to her husband of 24 years and is the mother of two children attending college in Illinois. She considers herself to be fiscally conservative and socially progressive. She is active in and committed to her family and her community. She organizes and/or participates in local charitable causes and has served with distinction on numerous boards and civic associations for the past 14 years. She is running for alderman in the 4 ward in Spring Valley and is asking for your support on April 9, 2013.

The 4th ward runs south to north from Dakota Street to Cambridge Addition and east to west from Mary to Hennessey.
