Hi, I'm Jama Mohamed.

I'm a nonprofit leader, philanthropy professional, and founder focused on solving complex community challenges through innovation.

For more than a decade, I've worked at the intersection of community development and philanthropy. Throughout that work, I repeatedly encountered a common problem: critical emergency information often fails to reach the people who need it most, especially during severe weather events, disasters, and public safety emergencies.

That insight led me to found SignalPost, a public safety technology company developing next-generation emergency alert solutions that bridge the gap between emergency management systems and the communities they serve.

While I am not a technical engineer by training, I bring something equally important: deep domain expertise, firsthand understanding of community needs, and the ability to identify overlooked problems before they become obvious to the market. My career has been built around listening to communities, building partnerships, and turning complex social challenges into practical solutions.

Today, I’m building SignalPost, working at the intersection of public safety, civic technology, and community resilience, bringing together technical experts, emergency managers, public institutions, and investors to create tools that help save lives and strengthen communities.

I believe the best technology is not built around features. It's built around real human problems.
