I have been a practicing physician for over 30 years. Direct patient care, managed care administration, and physician group leadership -- as well as practicing in New Zealand in their nationalized healthcare system -- has given me a wide spectrum of both experiences and opinions regarding our healthcare system. I have recently retired from direct patient care and now devote my time to medical consulting, traveling with my wife and blogging. Fishing, golfing, and poker are my bonuses.
