Joe Napolillo

Director of Technology | Warwick Public Schools

I’m a lifelong Warwick resident and currently serve as the Director of Technology for Warwick Public Schools, where I oversee districtwide technology operations, cybersecurity, data systems, and instructional technology initiatives supporting thousands of students and staff.

My career blends hands-on technical experience, operational leadership, and a strong customer-service mindset. I started in the field as a computer technician, worked my way through coordination and assistant director roles, and now lead the department with a focus on reliability, security, and people-first service.

In my role, I work closely with district leadership, school administrators, educators, and external partners to ensure that technology is secure, accessible, compliant, and actually helpful. That includes everything from infrastructure and device management to student information systems, data privacy, emergency communications, and long-term strategic planning.

I’m especially passionate about:

• Building service-oriented technology teams
• Supporting students with special needs through inclusive technology
• Strengthening cybersecurity and staff awareness
• Simplifying systems so schools can focus on teaching and learning
• Leading with transparency, trust, and collaboration

Before entering public education, I spent many years in multi-site retail leadership and IT operations, which shaped my belief that how you treat people matters just as much as the systems you build.

Outside of work, I’m a proud husband and dad, a lifelong animal lover, a musician at heart, and someone who believes strongly in giving back to the community that raised me.
