Joan D. Firestone

Joan D. Firestone is a well-known facilitator with years of experience in leadership positions in government, the private and non-profit sectors, most recently as Executive Director of The Moth. She served as Assistant Director of the New York State Council on the Arts under Kitty Carlisle Hart; Director of Economic Development and Cultural Advisor to the NYC Comptroller, Alan G. Hevesi; A devoted advocate of the arts and arts education, Firestone served as Special Advisor for the Arts to the NYC Chancellor, Harold Levy. An independent producer, she served as Chairman of the Board of the Cherry Lane Theatre; Co-President of the League of Professional Theatre and currently serves on the Boards of The Dramatists Guild Fund and The Moth.
