Hello, I’m Joan. I'm an artist living in SE Minnesota with a life long passion for art and a love of nature. Though my artistic path has included numerous mediums and techniques, my current art is best revealed with brush and paints.I enjoy working en plein air, although I am admittedly a fair weather participant. My studio paintings evolve from my own reference photos and sketches gathered as I travel.

My art is inspired by the natural world and my love of family and cooking. I am interested in capturing the wonder of that fleeting moment -the quality of light as it defines the subject, wether it be a landscape, still life, or portrait.Nurturing my creativity daily brings me great joy.
