Joan Lynch

Named one of CableFax Magazine’s Most Powerful Women in Cable in 2011, Joan Lynch is the owner and co-founder of WagTree, Inc. Her firm provides original marketing and content services that effectively promote brands and develop client business and talent. Joan Lynch also has recent consulting experience with BluMoon Sports & Entertainment, where she helped develop a PTSD campaign about a paradigm-shifting technology created by the University of Southern California’s Institute of Creative Technologies.

Ms. Lynch began her career in the mid-1990s as field producer with ABC NewsOne and subsequently joined Yahoo! Inc., where she helped establish a pioneering financial news broadband channel. As an executive producer with ABC News Now from 2004 to 2006, she played a pivotal role in launching a new 24-hour digital program. From 2006 to 2012, she served as vice president of content development with ESPN, where she managed the production of sports-focused cross-platform programming. Her team generated a diversity of content, including news and analysis programs and well-received sports documentaries. Joan Lynch also led development of unscripted series such as RISE UP, which explored the challenges faced by high schools in upgrading athletics facilities against a background of economic recession and limited available capital.
