JoAnn Ward
An entrepreneur and TV host with more than 25 years of experience in matchmaking and personal coaching, JoAnn Ward owns Master Matchmakers, a nationwide practice based in Palm Beach, Florida. Born and raised in Philadelphia, JoAnn learned to juggle the challenges of entrepreneurship as a mother of three young children. In the 90s she harnessed her knack for bringing people together by launching Master Matchmakers, through which she would connect successful local singles in and around Philly. Developed for those seeking Mr. or Ms. Right, rather than Mr. or Ms. "Right Away", Master Matchmakers quickly proved a dependable partner in the search for true love.
As Master Matchmakers grew, JoAnn found herself in good – and familiar – company, with her son, Steven Ward, taking on CEO responsibilities, and daughter, Monica Ward, as Executive Director of Client Relations. But despite their impressive growth, it wasn’t until VH1 came into their lives that the Wards and Master Matchmakers would become a worldwide phenomenon.
With the hit reality series, Tough Love, the Wards showed millions of viewers that love lurks in unexpected places. Over six seasons cohosts JoAnn and Steven delivered their trademark relationship and dating advice with humor and honesty – never sugarcoating the truth. The show also led to a bestselling book, Crash Course in Love, co-written by JoAnn and Steven and published by Simon and Schuster.
Recent projects from the Ward family and Master Matchmakers include Love Lab, a mobile dating app that makes sure that your dates are who they say they are. Go to www.lovelab.com for more information.
