Joanna Biernat
Teacher, Consultant, and Volunteer in Legnica, Poland
A few notes about me:
- My zodiac - Taurus.
- I try to be an optimistic person, but I'm aware that sometimes the reality is cruel.
- A sense of humor, detailed descriptions of some problems, and logical way of thinking help me to deal with plenty of daily challenges.
- I am a math and computer science teacher in technical high school.
- I worked as a math teacher in a junior high school. I've been working in the same school/place for 15 years. I love my work and where I work - my school is situated in one of the oldest castles in Poland.
- Six years ago I started an additional math journey - I taught 'math in English' in a private junior high school. But, one day I had to finish this adventure to start a new one.
- I also taught computer science in the Miedz Legnica Soccer School. I taught students who want to be professional soccer players.
- My list of courses I've finished is very long. However, I'm still thinking about new courses to enroll and finish.
- I like learning more about the newest technology. New applications and codes are interesting to me. It also helped me to deal with many problematic situations as LEWWWP's Co-Admin.
LEWWWP = Learn English with a WorldWide Perspective (closed on Dec 31, 2106)
- In my free time I love reading books. I take an advantage of knowing English because I can read books which haven't been translated into Polish yet. Since 2008 I've read only two or three books in Polish.
- A book which has made a huge impression on me The Giver by Lois Lowry.
- I've training karate for 14 years. Now I have a black belt - the 2nd DAN (the second level out of ten).
- Training karate , learning English and teaching are very similar - you learn, repeat, make corrections, repeat, learn, correct, and practice, practice, again learn, repeat, correct, ...
- I like listening to music, but the genre I choose depends on my mood. I love classical music, but modern music is also interesting.
