Hello, my name is Joanna and I am a tech enthusiast! I graduated from Queen’s in 2009 and immediately started my career abroad. In the past twelve years I have taught in England, Indonesia, Italy, Dubai, and am currently teaching in The Bahamas.

I am an elementary teacher and spent the past five years working in an Apple Distinguished School in Dubai. We were a 1:1 iPad school and during my time there, I quickly realized that educational technology is a huge passion of mine and a direction I would like to take my career.

Seeing the many ways technology tools can enhance learning and open new opportunities for all types of learners completely transformed my viewpoints around the use of tech in schools.

My experience is in lower elementary and involves implementing coding and robotics programs. My goal is to build capacity in students and teachers to seek purposeful and authentic use of technology that is accessible to all learners.
