Ms. Riley has been profiled or featured in a wide range of noted business publications, including Fast Company, the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg News, and Fortune. In 2016, the California Diversity Council presented her with its Most Powerful and Influential Women Award. The following year, she earned a position among the world’s 100 highest-ranked women in the tech sector. In addition, Joanna Riley is the recipient of a Power 30 Under 30 Award for Professional and Community Excellence.
Joanna Riley places an emphasis on giving back to the tech and entrepreneurship communities through her support as an angel investor and her service on a variety of boards of directors. She has also published a range of articles on diversity, leadership, the changing technology sector, and the challenges for women working in tech.
Ms. Riley, who began her career as an instructor with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s International Training and Assistance Unit, holds a bachelor’s in foreign affairs from the University of Virginia. She worked with the FBI on issues involving international drug crimes and terrorist crime scene investigations.
