Hello! I’m Joanne. I am currently studying at Ryerson University in the Creative Industries program. The purpose of the program I chose was to help me learn the connections between business with arts and entertainment along with how to use those business aspects in order to better understand and manage talent within those industries. I am interested in designing, fine arts, music and film. During my free time, I like to read, sketch, do digital art, dance, listen to music and watch movies. I also like to regularly update my artwork on my Instagram art account. I am able to use some of Adobe Creative Suite such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and AfterEffects but I am hoping to further develop my skills with video editing platform such as PremierePro. I have worked on several projects at Ryerson such as developing and pitching a driver’s education app for MTO and have been involved in several small business start-ups with different teams. Although I am able to strive by working alone, I’m also good at working with different people and being open to new opinions and ideas. I am also studying in media business and storytelling in media modules, which helps me understand the fundamental knowledge of the history, working condition, and expectations of the media industry. In addition, I’ve also taken several business courses including entrepreneurship, small business management, and marketing. One of my personal goals is to create a portfolio for my artwork and gain more working experience. I enjoy working and seeing the results of my contributions therefore in the future, I would like to work in the behind-the-scenes environment of the entertainment industry whether it be film and animation, broadcasting, or music.
