Joanne Cabero

My name is Joanne Cabero and I am I am 21 years old. I am a fourth year student at San Jose State University majoring in health science. As a health science major, I have had many opportunities to do volunteer throughout different communities. As a resident of Milpitas, I have been able to give back to my community through volunteering at the Milpitas Food Pantry. For the Milpitas Food Pantry, I was able to distribute canned goods and grocery items to poor low-income families. I am also a volunteer for Project Shine, in which I tutor elderly residents to speak English. I am also a member of a Health Science honors society at SJSU, called Eta Sigma Gamma. My expected graduation date is spring 2013 and after I graduate, I hope to pursue my master’s degree in occupational therapy. My goal is to become a pediatric occupational therapist and work with children that have disorders such as cerebral palsy and autism.
