Joanne Rohde

Raleigh, North Carolina

North Carolina-based entrepreneur Joanne Rohde has spearheaded innovative business development at several multinational financial and technology enterprises over the last 20 years. In 2009, she launched Axial Exchange and began working with nationwide health care providers to improve patient and family engagement in their care, using open-source and open-standard technologies. Now, as Chief Executive Officer, she leads Axial Exchange in developing and implementing mobile solutions that better connect patients and family members to health care professionals, thus creating active relationships and improving patient experiences. As a result, Joanne Rohde and her colleagues at Axial Exchange help health care facilities eliminate unnecessary and time-consuming activities while increasing customer loyalty.

Prior to establishing Axial Exchange, Joanne Rohde helped build the open-source software company Red Hat, Inc., into one of the most-recognizable and fastest-growing information technology (IT) businesses in the world. Serving as Executive Vice President of Global Operations at Red Hat from 2004 to 2007, she assisted in tripling the company’s revenues and transaction volume and oversaw the establishment of operations in more than 40 cities worldwide. Prior to Red Hat, Joanne Rohde worked as Executive Director of Investment Banking IT and Global Risk Systems at UBS Investment Bank from 1991 to 2003. Her achievements at UBS ranged from implementing state-of-the-art IT privacy and security systems to developing successful onshore and offshore outsourcing plans during one of the bank’s largest growth periods in its history.
