Joanne Lindsay Counselling

Hi, I'm Joanne and I run an affordable counselling service in Taunton, Somerset which I set up in 2011.

I offer a range of services including various styles of groups including a self help coffee morning, workshops and one to one counselling via face to face, phone or Skype. I also offer counselling supervision.

I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor. I work from mainly a person centered approach, although I have also had training and gained formal qualifications in other therapies including Transactional analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Gestalt and counselling Supervision. I tailor my approach to the needs of each individual client, as I believe that there is no 'one size fits all' to counselling.

As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I am on the 'Accreditated Voluntary Register' (no 050666) which means I have completed a high standard of professional training and continue to practice safely and work to the BACP ethical Guidelines.

Previously as a counsellor I have worked within the Substance Misuse sector gaining a variety of knowledge and experience and continue to do this part-time.

And before me as the Counsellor; I have worked in a variety of roles including retail supervisor, bar and waiting staff, pre-school assistant, production supervisor, a kleeneze representative and cleaning a variety of premises. I took jobs that were available in order to initially support myself and then my family as a forces wife and mother. I am so grateful to have this variety of experience in my life that has given me the drive to make my service available to everyone across the board.
