João Artur Souza

João Artur Souza is currently a graduation student at PUC-Rio working on his dissertation on subtitle processing (due dec. 2015). He is a visiting professor at Universidade Veiga de Almeida (UVA), teaching an Audiovisual Translation non-degree graduation course. He is an experienced professional in the teaching of AVT modalities, mainly Subtitling, Subtitling for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (SDH) and Audiodescription. Souza has taught on-line courses, webinars and workshops on a regular basis through ACME e-Learning, where he is also Pedagogical Coordinator. Souza has also been a subtitler since 2009, having subtitled more than 300 hours of different genres for major TV broadcasts.
