I majored in psychology and minored in advertising and landed in newspapers. I became a copy editor/headline writer — one who excelled at it and won state and internal awards. I recently spent 21.5 years at Florida's biggest newspaper -- working in digital and print -- and wrote bits of copy akin to a copywriter.
