Singapore
Born and raised in the sunny island of Singapore, I went through pretty much the majority of my life here, unceremoniously passing through St. Andrews School and Catholic Junior College before undergoing the compulsory two year stint in the military and finally ended up at the Faculty of Science at the National University of Singapore reading for a degree in Life Science.
I found my love for development in my second year of study after I undertook a research project and found myself deriving joy in writing software for my lab that optimised workflow processes more so than doing actual research. It was then I realised that I had a deeper desire to create products and services that can impact lives regardless of social class or status and software engineering seemed to offer me the answer. I switched to the School of Computing the following year, specialising in Software Engineering and I haven't looked back since.
Music has been a part of my life since I was 13, beginning with casual jams at the studio near our school, progressing on to performing at events before moving on to sound engineering after taking on the position of logistics director in my school's live performance talent management society NUS Amplified where I managed stage logistics as well as the overall sound.
I have since moved on into the world of entrepreneurship which allows me to fuse both of my passions where I wish to give back to the music community via my own project, Mooziq.
Mooziq aims to provide local musicians with alternative revenue streams that we hope will help them to craft a career out of their passion - music.
