Student at University College Falmouth, studying a Foundation degree in Radio Production. Currently working on the Wednesday Source FM breakfast show Hard Tack. Hoping to venture into music radio in the future. Inspired by radio DJs such as Annie Mac & Nick Grimshaw.
I have recently undergone a work experience placement at London's famous Kiss FM and Magic FM. This was incredibly inspiring - I met so many different people and got to sit in on shows such as the Kiss FM breakfast show with Rickie, Melvin and Charlie. I was allowed to sit in Neil Fox's (Dr Fox) breakfast show on Magic FM, aswell as Gary Vincent's afternoon show and Paul Phear's show. It was so insipiring to hear how these people got into the radio industry, and they also gave me various tips on how to kick-start my career in radio.
I was lucky enough to be able to sit in on one of Simon Mayo's Friday request shows on BBC Radio 2. This was amazing to be able to see such a hugely well known show being produced and broadcasted live. Again, I was able to meet so manhy different people that inspired me in so many different ways.
In may I'll hopefully be given the chance to fulfill a work experience placement at Heat Magazine. This will give me a chance to do some editorial work.
There is absolutely nothing I enjoy more than live music and festivals, hence my love for music radio. I have a passion for a huge range of different musical genres, and enjoy finding out about musicians that are more understated. I love meeting new people and am interested in finding out about different cultures. Ideally, this is what I'd like to be able to stem my career from in the (hopefully) not too distant future!
