Life for me started rocky, but I was lucky enough to be adopted by a wonderful family at the age of two. They raised me in a small town in Montana where entertainment wasn't found at the local mall but rather in a bike ride down to the river to hang out with friends.
MTV, VH1, ESPN? What were those? We had two stations. My older sister and I would fight over who got control of the TV when we got home from school.
Off to college in the big town of Butte, MT. I passed my classes and got my Bachelor's in Computer Science. I didn't graduate at the top or the bottom of my class, but I did learn a lot about life.
My first post college job was programming on the welfare systems in Helena, MT. Food stamps, cash aid and Medicaid were all impacted by what I did on a daily basis.
My stay wasn't long, but it was long enough to meet my one and only wife and her son and daughter who I now consider my own. Little did she know when we met that I would be dragging her to Oregon to start the next chapter of our lives together. I left my job in Montana and went to work at Blue Cross Blue Shield maintaining the Medicare system.
After a number of years there, circumstances pointed me at Liberty Mutual, Ins. to develop and maintain a small piece of their auto and home insurance offerings. I'm still there today, but in my free time, when I'm not disc golfing, I develop and maintain web sites for non-profit organizations and any other small companies that want to bring me their business.
My wife and I are now the proud grandparents of three beautiful children. We still hear Montana calling to us to come home, but for now our lives are still in Oregon where we can see our grandkids daily.
