Joe Bonpensiero (Then & Now)

Joseph "Joe" Bonpensiero was born into a Sicilian family in the heart of San Diego's Little Italy. Starting youn (7 years) he went to sea and began working aboard the family fishing boat, he was a seasoned fisherman by his late teens. But with his father's encouragement, he chose to forgo the laborious and dangerous fishing life and istead pursued a USAF commission and a San Diego State College degree. Later, he earned a master's degree from Golden Gate University. After working in aerospace and Real Estate for a couple of years, Joe settled down. He began to write a memoir of his early days tuna fishing He penned, La Luna Cioccolate, Chocolate Moon a Tom Sawyeresque take on his years working on a Sicilian Family fishing boat. Traveling throughout the world and moving continuously, 43 house moves since born, Joe has continued a quest which now finds him in "Sin City," Nevada. His current writing effort––"NIPUTI," is an exciting view on his association with his uncle, Bompensiero, "the most feared Mafia killer on the west coast." An exciting treatment of "Life under the shadow of a Mafia killer."
