Prior to launching his career, Joe Corsmeier earned a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and Pre-law from the Florida State University and a Juris Doctor from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. Following his formal education, he worked for a year at the Hopping Boyd Green & Sams law firm in Tallahassee, Florida, before accepting a position as an assistant state attorney with the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. After three years in this role, he was hired to the Florida Bar's bar counsel and Department of Lawyer Regulation, where he remained for nearly a decade. Joe Corsmeier returned to the private sector in the late 1990s when he joined and became a partner with the Florida law firm Tew Barns & Atkinson, LLP. Following this, he served as a privately practicing attorney for three years before founding and operating a joint-practice, Albinson & Corsmeier, PA. He established his current solo practice in 2008.
Beyond his demanding schedule, Joe Corsmeier enjoys giving back to his community and elevating his skills through involvement in professional groups. A longtime pro bono legal services provider with the Community Law Program, Inc. of St. Petersburg, Florida, Mr. Corsmeier has received several certificates of appreciation for his dedication to the organization, which provides free civil legal assistance to low-income and disadvantaged residents. Joe Corsmeier also holds membership in the Clearwater Bar Association and served on that organizations' Board of Directors for over five years and as President. He also serves on the Florida Bar's Professional Ethics Committee, which issues Ethics Opinions to help guide Florida lawyers on ethics matters.
