Joe Gault

Los Angeles, California, USA

My name is Joe Gault, not Joseph Gault, and not John Gault from Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, but just Joe Gault. I am an ex-professional baseball player turned student after a career ending injury. I have always planned on going to college and then law school, but I had originally planned on having a longer baseball career. As it turns out, I liked playing baseball, but I love learning. It recently dawned on me that I am the first person in my family's history to go to college, and I am proud to say that I will be continuing my education by going to Pepperdine University School of Law after graduating.

I enjoy reading. I am an avid science fiction reader. My favorite SciFi books are Ender's Game and the Warhammer series. When I'm not reading SciFi I enjoy reading political fiction, political history, American history, and U.S. Supreme Court opinions. I like to find connections between various political fiction, history, and court opinions. Some of the most obvious connections can easily be made between The Federalist Papers and any of the political and history genres I just mentioned.

When I'm not reading or studying, I work for The Grocery Game Inc. We are an online company that does the work of matching supermarket sale prices with coupons. Our company mission is to help families save money on supermarket goods. I am proud of the company that I work for because we have helped so many people save money at the supermarket. On average, our customers save over $400 per month while consuming name brand products. I have worked in almost every level of the company over the last 11 years. Before that time, I was in high school and worked for the company part-time and on the weekends since 1998.

I will be graduating 7/2014 from ASU. I will be starting law school at Pepperdine University School of Law 8/2014.
