Joe Girardin

I am 18 years old. I was born in Indianapolis, IN, on August 13, 1994 at St. Vincent’s right by Brebeuf. I am a sports lover, but mainly follow hockey and football but like to watch or play anything that is a “sport”. If you don't already know, I am obsessed with hockey. I have not been playing my whole life like most hockey players have, but love it more than all of them. I also started playing lacrosse for the first time last year. JV Lax could not have been more of a blast and would rather be on JV this year but will have to be on varsity if I would have played, but decided to try golf this year instead.

I have many other things I enjoy in life besides hockey. I love animals and would adopt every stray animal in the world if I could, but that would require a lot of money that I just don’t have. We have three dogs though, Moe, Micky and Charlie. All three are German Short-haired Pointers: Moe is 11, Micky is 6 and Charlie is 1. Charlie is quite crazy and likes to chew just about everything he can wrap his tiny mouth around, including almost all of the shoes in the house.

Cars are another huge interest of mine. I would love to become a car designer one day, or even an engineer who builds or works on them, but math and science are not quite my forte. My father owns his own business, which is an international marketing and consulting group, which inspired me to want to become a business major. I am attending Purdue University next year to study business and engineering. I was lucky enough to be offered an internship at a commercial roofing company to get a feel for what it is like running a company. I am excited to be a part of the executive workforce and look forward to putting my leadership and people skills to the test.

So far I have no big regrets in life and would like to keep it that way. I am blessed to be as well off as I am and really can’t complain about a thing. I hope senior year is a enjoyable as people have made it out to be and am ready to take the next step in life.
