Joe Groves

From humble beginnings, growing up on a council estate in Basildon, Joe’s first steps towards becoming a born communicator arose when he played the role of a lifetime at age 6. Jesus! Joe expertly managed to convey a range of emotions encompassing both happy and sad faces.

After less than desirable reviews of his portrayal of Jesus Christ, with one critic even commenting “I wasn’t aware Jesus waved to his mum during the last supper”. Joe bounced back, showing the resilience of a PR guru.

Evidence of this natural aptitude surfaced when he managed and promoted his very own table at the exclusive and highly regarded 1998 Blue Peter bring 'n' buy sale. Here Joe managed to sell a range of goods, some of questionable value such as Mousetrap, devoid of said mouse. Joe also exhibited another valuable natural gift, that of negotiating a good deal. This led to one seller, crumbling under Joe’s steely gaze, selling him SPICE (debut album from Posh & Co) for an economical 50 pence sterling. Later seeing the error of his ways when he fully comprehended the true nature of charity, Joe donated a further 50 pence to the beaten seller. This was a boy on the verge of greatness.

Joe's next step to greatness took place at his Year 6 District Sports Day, finishing last in the 100m race (After an in-depth two year investigation it was concluded that Joe simply lost due to being the slowest; cheating did not take place. Joe is currently appealing this ruling). Joe wasn’t defeated, instead he found opportunity where others would only see failure. He utilised the substantial networks he procured on the day to open shop on a new business venture, underground Lucozade tablet racketeering; selling to both his own classmates and also competitors. After the profit-making venture concluded, with a teacher raid on the business, Joe publicly commented “I was simply adding to the competitive nature of the day, I should be commended for my efforts”.

In these humble beginnings the kernels of future PR greatness can be seen.
