My name is Joseph Kukella. I am originally from Upstate New York; Auburn to be exact which sits at the northern tip of Owasco Lake in the Finger Lakes region. I’ve moved on (though I still have family there) and now I call Northern Virginia home. I live in a small house on the banks of the Potomac River in Mason Neck, Virginia, just south of DC.

I studied architecture and design at the School of Architecture and Planning at the State University of New York at Buffalo and after graduation I went to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to get an MFA in Graphic Design. Since then I’ve worked my way up from production design to creative direction, taught at a couple of colleges, and started my own design studio. I’ve been fortunate to work with clients across a broad spectrum of specialties which is one of the facets of design that I love; there’s always something new to work with.
