I am a freelance writer, mainly about baseball, and lifelong resident of Pittsburgh. I work as the Pirates beat reporter for Last Word on Sports and an occasional contributor to Through the Fence Baseball. I've also written about the Pittsburgh music scene, having contributed a chapter to an excellent book, Through Our Eyes - Short Stories Told By The People Who Helped Build The Pittsburgh Hardcore Scene and an article to yawp: Art + Literature 'Zine.

You can find my articles on my author pages at Last Word On Sports and Through The Fence Baseball. You can also access my Facebook or BlueSky pages, where links to my articles (and occasionally articles by my esteemed colleagues) are posted as they are published. Or if you just want to start out by reading what I consider to be my best stories, check out my portfolio at MuckRack. You may purchase Through Our Eyes here and yawp here. But enough about you.

While there are numerous sources of baseball news on the internet, I try to find angles and information that other sites won't have. I like to say I write articles the same way I read articles, by skipping the boring stuff.

My interests range from sports to music. I am also interested in arts, reading, cooking, surviving, and absurdity. I participate in sports as a member of the Game 7 Gang, which organizes the annual celebration of the anniversary of Game 7 of the 1960 World Series at the Forbes Field Wall, and as part owner of the New York Knicks and Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays via investments in my IRA.

I'm also proud to maintain the unofficial Electric Banana website, which has entertained and informed dozens for over one-tenth of a century and enabled me to organize and promote two music festivals. Finally, I was known to take one of the guest DJ spots on Record Night at the Smiling Moose on Pittsburgh's South Side until it sadly closed its doors for good.
