Joel Auerbach

I have written three books with a fourth in progress. My works include ‘Dive Miami’, a look at the natural and artificial wreck sites in the vicinity of Miami, Florida. My second book, ‘Focus ’07’, is a photographic essay of sports and entertainment images taken by the author in the United States and Internationally. My final completed book ‘U-1020’ is my first novel. ‘U-1020’ is the story of Adolf Hitler’s escape from Germany to Argentina at the conclusion of World War II.

In addition, I was an associate editor of the Brazilian dive magazine Mergulhar and wrote travel articles for Caribbean destinations that included underwater photographs taken on location. My underwater photographs have appeared in Skin Diver Magazine along with numerous brochures and other magazines. A collection of my underwater photographs was sold internationally in CD form.

For the previous twelve years, I have been photographing sporting events in the United States, Europe, and South America and for the last four years I have been affiliated with Getty Images. My images have appeared in newspapers worldwide and in magazines including; Sports Illustrated, and ESPN the Magazine.
