Joel B. Frey, P.Eng., Ph.D.
Motivational Speaker, Certified True Colors Facilitator, and Electrical Engineer in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada
Dr. Joel B Frey is a Certified Facilitator of True Colors Personal Success Seminars. A professional engineer by trade and a dedicated engineering educator, Joel has worked on many project teams and has developed a strong desire to better understand why some teams succeed while others fail. He believes that even against seemingly insurmountable odds, the best teams can reach their goals, but only if the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The power of True Colors is that it creates an open and approachable method of understanding and appreciating yourself and those around you. This understanding is the key ingredient to success, both individually, and as part of a team.
Joel also speaks at events, conferences and schools on the subject of volunteerism and consults on volunteer engagement strategies for non-profit groups of all types. Joel has given much of his time over the past 14 years to supporting various non-profit organizations, with the majority of that time going to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada. Joel’s family has been deeply affected by Crohn’s Disease and ulcerative colitis and he has acted in a leadership role both locally and nationally to raise funds and awareness to cure these diseases. For the past 9 years, Joel has specialized in volunteer engagement and has directly recruited over 100 volunteers to the cause. In 2014, Joel was awarded Crohn’s and Colitis Canada’s Finkelstein Award, the organization's top honor, for his volunteer efforts spanning over a decade.
Joel’s keynote address, “It’s Amazing What Happens When You Say Yes”, relates his struggle with Crohn’s Disease and how it led him to get involved as a volunteer. In his time as a volunteer, Joel has given so much, but has received so much more in return. He urges you to find a cause that you are passionate about and become a part of it. The world is waiting for you to change it!
