Joel Fuentes

Joel Fuentes is a junior at the Science Academy of South Texas, a rigorous magnet high school, where he is currently studying Engineering and Digital Electronics. His interest in STEM began during the fall of 2012, when he had the opportunity to study the basics of robotics and mechanics as a student of a Gateway to Technology course. He learned about the many possibilities the STEM fields offered, and the importance of math literacy. Inspired by this experience, Joel actively leads the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and the Technology Student Association, helping to spread awareness about the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Joel is currently a candidate for State Office within TSA. When he is not busy studying, Joel is a Graphic Designer/ Photographer/ Jr. Editor for his school's yearbook.
